Sex Communicating about what we want and need sexually is one of the most difficult challenges and wonderful opportunities for growth that exists in the world of sexuality.  As our clients move through different ages and phases, and have the experience of being both partnered and single, the skills needed for good sexual communication change. We can better serve our clients if we become more informed and comfortable with this topic.

In this workshop, we will examine what gets in the way of sexual communication (both clinically and in personal relationships), what are the unconscious patterns that shape our words or willingness to begin these intimate conversations, and what are the gifts we hold that can help us communicate better.  Topics to be discussed will be the challenge and discomfort around words and language, how we set boundaries, safer sex conversations, communicating during sex, how to handle miscommunication, and the value of debriefing for couples.  There will be a balance of lecture, discussion, and interactive exercises.
